I was born with “floating hips” . My father was an ortho. surgeon.. After a lifetime of dealing with pain I had a hip replacement about 6 years ago. When I came out of surgery the doctor informed me that he had had to put my replacement in an odd place because of the deformity of my pelvis. Consequently that leg would be a full inch longer than the other. To make a long story short, I now suffer from debilitating back pain, I had to have knee surgery and my work as a Kindergarten teacher may be cut short. I am 60 and hoped to keep teaching for a few more years.
I wonder now if what the ortho. surgeon did was necessary. Has anyone had a similar experience?
